A collection's conditions are not a matter of opinion. The Loopshore device continuously measures temperature, humidity, light, vibration and air quality, alerts you when a value leaves the limit you have set, and keeps the history. The history can be shown to a lender, an insurer or a funder.

A single measurement tells you about one moment. The preservation of a collection is decided over the long term, and a deviation does not pick the day of the measurement. When conditions are monitored continuously, you know what really happens in the store, the exhibition hall or at the destination of a loan transport, not just how things looked at the moment of a visit.

We measure what harms a collection

The Loopshore device measures temperature and humidity, light, vibration and motion, and the visible signs of visitor load, that is air quality: carbon dioxide, volatile compounds and fine particles. It also measures air pressure and sound pressure level. These are the quantities that tell you whether a collection is under strain.

Limits are set to suit the site

A target range and upper and lower alarm limits are set for every measuring point to suit the site, not by a general default. When a value deviates, the alert comes by email or text message. You are also alerted when the device battery is running low or data transfer is interrupted. So a deviation does not go unnoticed just because no one happened to be looking.

A history you can show

When a work goes out on loan or the insurer asks, a promise is not enough. Measurement data is stored on a server in the EU and is deleted only at your request. You have access to your data for as long as the service is in use. A report is one click away as PDF or CSV, also for long periods, so the condition history can be shown to a lender, an insurer or a funder.

Getting started needs no installation project

The device is ready to use straight away, delivery takes 1–3 days and the battery is charged every 6–18 months. The device is mounted on the wall with screws, and it can also be mounted without drilling. Measurement begins without a separate project.

The collections centre of the Tampere museums monitors the conditions of its storage facility with a Loopshore device all year round:

”At the collections centre of the Tampere museums, special attention has been paid to the preservation of materials and the monitoring of conditions. We monitor the air quality of the storage facility without interruption all year round with a Loop One sensor. The collections centre holds about 400,000 objects from the collections of several museums. The sensor sends data on the space over the mobile network around the clock, and we also keep the data from past years for possible later use.”
